６月４日金曜日午後７時よりカスカスキアカントリークラブのレストランで、ファンの集いのウェルカムディナー＆オークションが開かれました。
Welcome Dinner & Silent Auction was held at Kaskaskia Country Club at 7 p.m. on June 4.




Do you see any familiar faces?
見覚えのあるコレクターさんがいるかな？
「私、アルコラには行ったことないもん」って言ってるあなた！
ラガディ・アン＆アンディの公式ファンブックで紹介されてるコレクターさん達も沢山いましたよ。

こういう集まりってなんだか「敷居が高そ〜っ」って思って見てるあなたもいることでしょう。
私もその１人でした。筋金入のラガディファンじゃないと行っちゃ行けないみたいな…
What I love about this gathering is the fact that everybody is welcome.
It is not that you have to be a Raggedy collector for many years or that a seasoned Raggedy collector who happened to sit across from you quiz you on Raggedy facts!

でも、そんなこと全然ないの。ラガディが好きで母子で参加してる人達、奥さんがラガディが好きで一緒に参加してるダンナさん。そんな人達が１年に１度だけど何年も何年も集まるうちに遠い親戚みたいな、そんな関係になって行く。
とても素敵な空間。
You may just be accompanying your friends or significant others who love Raggedy and might be hesitant to come for the first time. For the second time around, you spot some familiar faces. Then, over the years. the people you see here become your long time friends!

コールダーもラガディのお姉ちゃんを見つけました！
Calder found his first Raggedy cousin here, too!

来年2011年もこのアルコラで６月３日（金）、４日（土）、５日（日）の今度は３日間ラガディ・フレンドシップ・ギャザリングが開催されます。
There will be 3rd Annual Raggedy Friendship Gathering on June 3, 4, and 5th next year. If you are interested in hearing about the details a few months in advance next year, please email me here!

日本時間の木曜日投稿ぎりぎりだけど、リクエストにお応えして…
I supposed it is time for Calder’s cameo appearance…lol

アルコラに向かう車中「人参はやーめーて、トレーラーの運転手。コールダー大きくなったらトレーラーの運転手になるの。」

On the way to Arcola, “It’s no longer a carrot! A truck driver. That is what I want to be when I am big.” Calder made a declaration.

「にんじん」は、２才だったコールダーの去年の七夕のお願い
私も保育園の先生たちも、好物のにんじんが沢山食べられますようにかと思ってたよ
人参になりたかったのか…（笑
“Carrot” was his Tanabata wish he made last year when he was two years old. (We make wishes upon stars in Tanabata in Japan.)
It is his favorite food, but the teachers and I never imagined a Carrot was something to be!

５月２６日にこのブログでご報告したように、今までは使うことの出来なかった昔のアンとアンディの復刻の絵柄が解禁になりました。
I reported you on my May 26th blogthat we can now make new products using past artwork of Raggedy Ann&Andy.

とは言え、版権元から画像を提供してもらえる訳ではないので全て自己調達しなければなりません。
However, we have to get the artwork on our own.

これは1988年に出版されたGrow & Learnという２０冊の絵本のシリーズ。
スケジュール帳にはかなりのカット数の絵柄が必要になって来るので、アメリカに帰って急いで探した２０冊がようやく手元に届きました。
We acquired a complete set of the Raggedy Ann & Andy Grow-And-Learn Library.

９月発売予定だった2011年のスケジュール帳に、80年代の『マックミラン顔』のアンとアンディのデザインで全てやり直ししましょうよ！とデザイナーさんから届いたサンプル画像がこれ…どおですか？
Our designer scrapped all the work she has done with the current artwork and told us to make the 2011 schedule books all over with this Macmillan artwork! Here is a sample work that she just sent to us… What do you think?



６月中にデザインがアップ出来れば、９月発売で行かれるとメーカーさんからもメールが来ました。あと残り２０日。
If she finishes all the work by the end of June, we can still make it to a September release. We have 20 days to go.

さぁ、間に合うかな？？

Hi This is Akiko. I am reporting what was going on in Arcola on June 4 and 5th, 2010.

６月３日（木）３時ちょっと前にアルコラ到着。
今回のファンの集いの拠点となったアルコラセンター。前回の教会より沢山のディーラーさんが集まりとっても賑やか！
The 2nd Gathering was held in Arcola Center which gave an opportunity for more dealers to set up compared to the church last year. It certainly cheered us up, I feel, because we all love to see and to be surrounded by as many Raggedy smiles as possible, correct?!










翌朝、６月４日１０時オープンと同時に沢山のコレクターさんがやって来ました。


ディーラーさん達が持って来て、お宝の数々は写真で撮ったら何十枚にもなってしまうので動画でこちらから楽しんで下さい。

途中ブースを抜け出し、この２日だけ特別オープンしているミュージアムのギフトショップを覗いて来ました〜っ
I was able to sneak out for a little bit to peek out the museum gift show thanks to YOU ALL from the tables around me to watch my table!!



ジョニさんと静岡県でラガディショップをしているドールガーデンの渡辺さんと一緒に記念撮影。ジョニさんもトムさんもとっても元気でしたよ！

The museum has closed its door last year, but Joni and Tom re-opened the gift show only and specially for this occasion. It was nice to see them doing well! For those who did not get to see them in Arcola. They will be at the 95th ceremony at Strong Museum in Rochester, NY on July 9th.

Hi This is Akiko. I just arrived to Arcola yesterday and set up a booth. While laying all the Japanese Raggedy goodies, some have already came fishing! So I decided what the hot Japanese items are in Arcola today!

私の住むオハイオ州コロンバスからアルコラまでは、西に西に走って５時間。
販売会のブースの設営開始３時に向けて１０時に出発予定がちょっと遅れて…
コールダーを保育園にお迎えしたのが１１時ちょっと前。

パパと交代で「捕まらない範囲で」必死に運転（笑
あと５０キロというところで車の時計が３時を回りそう…
っと、銀行の時計は13:55

考えてみれば、ここはイリノイ州。オハイオ州とは１時間時差。
という訳で無事３時ちょっと前に会場のアルコラセンターに到着。

ブース設営中にもいくつかの商品が売れて行きました。
『アメリカの人気アイテムランキング』なんてのも楽しいかと思って
オンラインショップのトップページと『新着情報』でUPしてみました。

昨日は、到着と設営に夢中で画像なしなの…
アルコラレポートは、動画と写真とで火曜日の予定。
